Lebanon certificate attestation in Dubai and notary services for Lebanese residents
Lebanon certificate attestation for Dubai brings a Lebanese degree, civil extract or marriage record into use in the UAE. Many Lebanese residents here start somewhere else, though: with a power of attorney so a parent, a sibling or a lawyer can manage a flat, land or a bank account in Lebanon. That paper is signed before a notary public in the UAE, attested by MOFA, and then by the Lebanese embassy or consulate in the UAE.

We have in-house, in person notary public services, online notary public services and home visit notary services. We draft the power of attorney in Arabic, English or both, notarise it, and tell you what the Lebanese mission needs next.
Two things are worth checking early on any Lebanese file. First, how the UAE mission step is being handled for Lebanon at the time you apply. Second, the language of each document, because Lebanese degrees are often in French or English while civil records are in Arabic.

Side by side
Lebanon certificate attestation Dubai: the Lebanese side
| Document | First Lebanese step | Then |
|---|---|---|
| University degree or transcript | The university, then the Lebanese education ministry | Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants |
| Brevet or Baccalaureate | The Lebanese education ministry | Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants |
| Individual or family civil extract | The Personal Status Directorate; a recent extract is safer | Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants |
| Marriage record | Often registered by a religious court, then recorded in the civil registry | Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants |
| Commercial documents | The chamber of commerce | Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants |
After Beirut, the UAE mission step comes next, and MOFA in the UAE completes the attestation. Check how the UAE mission step is handled for Lebanon before you spend anything. We check it for you as the first step of every Lebanese file.
Arabic, French or English
A civil extract in Arabic goes to MOFA as it is. A degree in English needs no translation. A degree in French needs a certified translation into Arabic or English, made either in Lebanon, so it goes through the same stamps, or in the UAE after MOFA if the receiving office accepts it. See legal translation.
Common uses in the UAE
- A degree for an employment visa or licence: degree attestation.
- A marriage certificate for a spouse visa: marriage certificate attestation for a family visa.
- A birth certificate for a child’s visa: birth certificate attestation.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can I sign a power of attorney for my flat in Lebanon while living in Dubai?
Yes. We draft it, you sign it before our notary public, and it then goes to MOFA and the Lebanese embassy or consulate in the UAE.
Is the UAE embassy in Beirut open for attestation?
Check before you start, because this has to be confirmed at the time you apply. We check it for you first.
My Lebanese degree is in French. Does MOFA accept it?
Not on its own. MOFA works with Arabic and English, so a French degree needs a certified translation.
Can the Lebanese consulate in Dubai attest my degree for a UAE employer?
No. The consulate deals with papers going to Lebanon and services for Lebanese citizens. A degree for UAE use needs the Lebanese ministries, the UAE mission and MOFA.
Do I attest my civil extract or my marriage contract from the religious court?
Usually the civil registry document. Ask the UAE office that wants it, and send us both so we can compare.
