Notary stamp
A Dubai notary stamp is the seal and signature a notary public puts on a document after checking who signed it, or after comparing a copy with its original.

Child travel consent
Yes, a minor can travel to the UAE without parents, but the child needs papers that show both parents agree, and the airline decides how young is too young to fly alone.
NOC for a child visa
An NOC from parents for a visa is a signed letter in which one parent says they do not object to something the other parent is doing for their child.
NOC for a visa
An NOC for a UAE visa is a no objection letter from someone whose consent the visa office wants to see: an employer, a sponsor, a spouse or a parent.

MOFA online
MOFA attestation online means applying to the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs through its website or the UAE MOFA app, instead of visiting a counter.
MOFA verification
MOFA attestation verification is the check an employer, school, bank or government office makes to confirm that the MOFA attestation on a document is real and belongs to.

Recent Dubai notary news, in brief
Dubai private notary fees: a Dubai Courts decision in force from 2 January 2026
Dubai Courts prepared a decision regulating the fees of private notaries in Dubai, published in the Official Gazette of the Government of Dubai, issue 752, and in force from 2 January 2026. The Dubai Media Office reported the headline figures: AED 100 per party for registration, AED 100 per signature, and AED 1,000 per trip when the private notary works outside their place of work. What it means for you: when a notary visits your home or office in Dubai, the trip fee is a published government figure, separate from our own charge, which is quoted when you book. See home visit notary.
A new Civil Transactions Law, in force from 1 June 2026
Federal Decree-Law No. 25 of 2025 replaced the earlier Civil Transactions Law from 1 June 2026. The rules on agency, which cover powers of attorney, are now in Articles 866 to 903. A power of attorney written only in general terms gives the agent acts of management only (Article 871), and revocation is in Article 898. Source: UAE Legislation.
What it means for you: old articles quoted on many websites no longer apply. There is still no fixed statutory validity period for a UAE power of attorney; its term is whatever the document says. See power of attorney notarisation.
Federal notary fees: Cabinet Resolution No. 19 of 2024
The federal fee schedule for notarial acts has been in force since 16 March 2024. It sets, for example, AED 100 per party to execute or notarise a general or special power of attorney, AED 200 per party to authenticate signatures on an instrument of unspecified value, AED 300 for an affidavit and AED 50 per page for a translation notarised with the instrument. A private notary on this schedule adds up to 30 percent as a professional fee. Source: UAE Legislation.

Who may perform notarial acts in the UAE
Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2022, in force since 28 December 2022, says notarial duties are performed only by public notaries, private notaries and accredited UAE consuls. It does not apply to local judicial authorities with their own notary legislation, which is why Dubai notaries follow Dubai Law No. 4 of 2013. Sources: UAE Legislation, Dubai Legislation portal.
The UAE is still not a party to the Apostille Convention
The Hague Conference’s status table still does not list the UAE. Because the UAE is not a party, an apostille added in the home country does not replace the embassy and MOFA route. Source: HCCH status table.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I find official UAE notary news?
The primary sources are the UAE Legislation portal for federal laws and Cabinet resolutions, the Dubai Legislation portal for Dubai laws, and the Dubai Media Office for Dubai government announcements. We link to each one above.
Did notary fees in Dubai change in 2026?
Yes. A Dubai Courts decision on private notary fees took effect on 2 January 2026, with AED 100 per party for registration, AED 100 per signature and AED 1,000 per trip outside the place of work.
Is my old power of attorney still valid under the new law?
The new Civil Transactions Law took effect on 1 June 2026. Whether an existing power of attorney is affected depends on its wording and purpose. Ask a lawyer for advice on your own document, and call us if it needs to be replaced.
Has the UAE joined the Apostille Convention?
No, the UAE is not a party. The HCCH status table does not list it.
Can I have a document notarised online now?
Online notarisation in the UAE runs by video through the remote notarisation channels such as the Ministry of Justice e-Notary system and UAE PASS. We tell you if your document can be done online. See online notary.
