Degree attestation in Dubai, with notarised copies and declarations

A UAE employer or licensing body often wants more than stamps on your degree. It may want a certified copy, a statement that links two spellings of your name, or a signed letter for a relative who collects the degree at home. Degree attestation is the chain of stamps that lets a UAE office accept a degree issued in another country. The degree is checked in the country that issued it, the foreign ministry there attests it, a UAE embassy or consulate in that country stamps it, and MOFA in the UAE adds the last attestation.

The costly mistake is sending the wrong paper or skipping one stamp. So the first thing we do is look at the degree itself.

A notarised copy is useful for everyday requests. It does not replace attestation: an office that asks for an attested degree needs the original with the full chain of stamps.

Ask the office for its list in writing. It decides whether you attest only the degree, or the degree plus transcripts and experience letters.

Before you start: a five point check

Is it the final degree?

Ask the office whether it accepts a provisional certificate before you attest one.

Does the name match your passport exactly?

If not, plan a name affidavit before a notary public.

Is it laminated?

MOFA will not attest it. Order a new original from the university.

Are transcripts needed too?

Attest them in the same pass, so the papers go home only once.

Is it in Arabic or English?

Three routes, depending on where your degree is now

The degree is with you in the UAE and has no stamps.

It has to go back to the issuing country for the home country steps and the UAE embassy step. A relative there can usually do this with your authority letter, which we prepare and notarise. Then it comes back for MOFA.

The degree is still at home with your family.

Your family completes the home country steps and the UAE embassy step, then sends it to you. We handle the MOFA step.

The degree already has the UAE embassy stamp.

Only MOFA is left. We collect it, submit it to MOFA and return it to you.

The first check at home depends on the country. Pakistani degrees usually go to the Higher Education Commission first, and many Indian degrees need a state level check before the Ministry of External Affairs. Attested, verified and equivalent are three different things

Attestation

is the chain of stamps on the paper, ending with MOFA.

Verification

is a check some employers and regulators run by contacting your university to confirm the degree is real. A degree can carry every stamp and still be sent for verification.

Equivalency

is a statement from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of what a foreign degree is equal to in the UAE. It comes after attestation, and only some offices ask for it. See degree equivalency.

A UAE degree going abroad

A degree issued by a UAE university and needed in another country goes the other way: MOFA attests it first, then the embassy or consulate in the UAE of the country that will receive it. We can notarise a true copy for you to keep while the original is away. See UAE documents for abroad.

Can you notarise a copy of my degree?

Yes. Our in-house notary public services notarise a true copy of your degree and transcripts, in person, online or at your home. A notarised copy suits everyday requests, but it does not replace the attested original.

How do I get degree attestation in Dubai?

The home country steps and the UAE embassy step happen in the country that issued the degree. MOFA is the last step and it happens in the UAE. We handle the MOFA step and prepare any notarised papers that go with the degree.

What does degree attestation cost?

MOFA charges AED 150 per personal document, and our MOFA stage service starts from AED 150. Home country and embassy fees depend on the country and are passed on at cost.

The name on my degree is spelled differently from my passport. What now?

A name affidavit before a notary public usually solves it. It states that both names belong to you. We prepare and notarise it before the attestation starts.

Can I get my degree attested without sending it home?

Only if it already carries the home foreign ministry and UAE embassy stamps. If not, those steps must happen in the issuing country, and a relative can do them with your notarised authority letter.
