Public notary services in Dubai: in person, online and at home
Dubai Notary Services offers public notary services in Dubai for people and companies who need a document signed, sworn or certified before a notary public. We have in-house, in person notary public services, online notary public services and home visit notary services. You choose how you want to sign. We prepare the document, check it with you and notarise it.

A notary public confirms who you are, makes sure you understand what you are signing, watches you sign or checks a copy against its original, and then applies the notary seal. That seal is what a bank, a court, a land department or an embassy looks for. If the document is going abroad, it can then go on to MOFA and the embassy, and we take it there for you.
This page is the starting point for all our notary work. It explains what we notarise, how an appointment runs, what to bring and what it costs, with a link to each service.
At a glance
- Notarised in person, online or at your home, office, hospital or care home in the UAE.
- Office open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. WhatsApp and online requests answered 24/7.
- Notaries public in Dubai work under Dubai Law No. 4 of 2013. Across the UAE, the notary profession is regulated by Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2022.
- Notary fees are set by Cabinet Resolution No. 19 of 2024 and, for Dubai private notaries, by a Dubai Courts fee decision. They are paid on top of our service price, at cost.
- The language of notarised instruments is Arabic, with a conditional exception, so many documents are prepared in Arabic and English.
- The UAE is not a party to the Apostille Convention. A document for use abroad is attested by MOFA, then by the destination country’s embassy or consulate in the UAE.

What a notary public does
A notarised document carries weight because an independent person has checked who signed it and that they understood it. At the appointment the notary public:
- checks your original passport and, for UAE residents, your Emirates ID;
- reads the document with you and confirms you understand it, with an interpreter where needed;
- watches you sign, or compares a copy with its original;
- applies the notary seal and signature, and records the act.
Notarisation and attestation are different things. Notarisation is the notary’s act. Attestation is the chain of government stamps that can follow it, such as MOFA and an embassy. Some documents need only the notary. Others need both.

Documents we notarise
If you are the one creating the document, a notary public usually has to deal with it before any office will accept it or attest it.
| Document | What the notary does | More detail |
|---|---|---|
| Power of attorney | Verifies your signature so your agent can act for you | Power of attorney notarisation |
| Affidavit or declaration | Records a statement you make before the notary | Affidavits before a notary |
| Affidavit of support | Records your statement that you support a visitor | Affidavit of support |
| NOC or consent letter | Verifies the signature of the parent, sponsor or employer | NOC for a visa, NOC for a child visa, child travel consent |
| Copy of a passport, degree or licence | Certifies that the copy matches the original | Certified true copies |
| Letter, contract or form | Witnesses your signature | Signature attestation |
| Board resolution, MOA or company POA | Verifies the signatories | Company documents |
| Translation used with a document | Notarises the translation with the document | Legal translation |
A certificate issued abroad, such as a foreign degree or birth certificate, does not need a Dubai notary. It follows its home country chain instead. See certificate attestation.

Step by step
How our notary service works

01
Tell us the purpose.
You say what the document is for and who will receive it. That tells us whether it needs the notary only, or MOFA and an embassy as well.
02
We prepare the document.
We draft it or check your draft, match every name to the passport, and add an Arabic translation by a legal translator registered with the Ministry of Justice where the notary needs one.
03
Choose how to sign.
In person with us in Dubai, online by video, or at your home or office.
04
Sign before the notary.
The notary checks your ID, watches you sign and applies the seal.
05
Next steps, if any.
If the document will be used abroad, we take it on to MOFA and the embassy. See notary and MOFA attestation and UAE documents for use abroad.
Checklist
What to bring
- Your original passport. UAE residents also bring their original Emirates ID.
- The draft document, or the details we need to draft it.
- Every person who must sign. If one signatory cannot attend, tell us before the booking, not on the day.
- The original of any document you want certified as a true copy.
- The name of the office, bank or embassy that will receive the document.
Bring originals, not photos on your phone. Appointments most often fail for small reasons: an expired Emirates ID, a draft only in English when Arabic is needed, a missing signatory, or a copy brought without its original. Our guide to the Dubai notary stamp shows what the finished seal looks like.
Government notary, private notary and Wafi Mall
In Dubai there is a government notary public at Dubai Courts, and there are private notaries entered on the Dubai Courts roll of notaries. Both work under Dubai Law No. 4 of 2013. Fees differ between the two routes, and our notary fees guide sets them out side by side.
Many people search for the notary public at Wafi Mall by name. An archived Dubai Courts service page lists Wafi Mall among the Dubai Courts service centres, together with centres at Al Barsha and Hatta. That page is from 2023, so check the centre’s current timings with Dubai Courts before you go. If you would rather not queue, we can notarise your document in person, online or at your home.
Matters inside the DIFC have their own notary service at DIFC Courts. It covers oaths, affidavits, affirmations, declarations and certified true copies for DIFC use.
Notary services across the UAE
Our notary work is not limited to Dubai. See our pages for notary services in Sharjah, notary services in Abu Dhabi, the notary public near Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi and the notary public in Mussafah. Family papers for a visa are on family visa documents.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
What do public notary services in Dubai include?
They include notarising powers of attorney, affidavits, declarations, NOCs and consent letters, witnessing signatures and certifying true copies. We do this in person, online by video or at your home. We also prepare the document and the Arabic translation before the appointment.
Is notarisation the same as attestation?
No. Notarisation is done by a notary public. Attestation is the chain of government stamps that follows, such as MOFA and an embassy. A document can need one or both.
Can a document in English be notarised in Dubai?
The language of notarised instruments is Arabic, with a conditional exception. In practice many documents are prepared in Arabic and English. We tell you what your document needs before the appointment.
Where is the notary public at Wafi Mall?
An archived Dubai Courts page lists Wafi Mall as a Dubai Courts service centre. Check its current opening and timings with Dubai Courts before visiting. You can also notarise with us in person, online or at home.
Can I use a DIFC notary instead?
Only for DIFC matters. The DIFC Courts notary service covers oaths, affidavits, affirmations, declarations and certified true copies for DIFC use. An ordinary onshore Dubai document does not go there.
Do you come to my home or office?
Yes. Our home visit notary services cover homes, offices, hospitals and care homes in the UAE. The Dubai private notary fee for a trip outside the place of work is AED 1,000, and our own charge is quoted when you book.
