Pakistan documents attestation in UAE, with notary services first
Pakistani residents in the UAE often need a notary before they need attestation. A brother at home has to handle your share of family land. A lawyer in Lahore or Karachi needs your authority to act in a court case. A bank in Pakistan wants a declaration signed in front of a notary. We have in-house, in person notary public services, online notary public services and home visit notary services, so documents like these are notarised in person, online or at your home in the UAE.

MOFA in the UAE
Pakistan documents attestation in UAE is the other half: a degree, nikah nama or birth certificate from Pakistan that a UAE employer or visa office must accept. That route starts with a Pakistani verifying body, then Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a UAE mission in Pakistan, and MOFA here.
Office open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. WhatsApp and online requests answered 24/7.
At a glance
- A power of attorney or affidavit signed in the UAE for Pakistan is notarised here, attested by MOFA, then by the Pakistan embassy or consulate in the UAE.
- A Pakistani degree goes to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) first. School certificates go to the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).
- MOFA charges AED 150 for a personal document and AED 2,000 for a commercial one. Source: MOFA FAQ.
- Pakistan has joined the Apostille Convention, but the UAE is not a party to it, so a Pakistani apostille does not replace the UAE mission stamp. Source: HCCH status table.
- Urdu documents need an Arabic or English translation that MOFA accepts. Source: MOFA attestation service.

Documents from Pakistan: which body verifies what
| Document | First step in Pakistan | Then |
|---|---|---|
| University degree and transcripts | Higher Education Commission (HEC) | Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE mission in Pakistan, MOFA |
| Matric and intermediate certificates | Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) | Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE mission in Pakistan, MOFA |
| Birth, marriage and family registration certificates | NADRA or the union council | Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE mission in Pakistan, MOFA |
| Invoices and company letters | A chamber of commerce | Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE mission in Pakistan, MOFA |
The UAE mission stamp is added in Pakistan, not in the UAE. If you have already moved here, a family member or representative in Pakistan hands the document in for you. We draft the authority letter they may need, and we can notarise it. See the degree attestation page for how the degree fits with UAE licensing.
Step by step
The nikah nama and the family visa
Most Pakistani family visa files turn on the marriage papers. Check three things before anything is sent:
01
Which certificate the visa office wants.
Ask whether it wants the nikah nama, the NADRA marriage registration certificate, or both, and attest what it asks for.
02
Names match.
The bride’s and groom’s names should be spelled the same on the nikah nama and on the passports. If not, a name affidavit may help.
03
Translation.
An Urdu nikah nama needs an Arabic or English translation that MOFA and the visa office accept. See legal translation.
The rest of that file is on marriage certificate attestation for a UAE family visa.
How we help Pakistani residents
- We notarise powers of attorney, affidavits, declarations and NOCs for use in Pakistan, and submit them to MOFA.
- We read photos of your Pakistani certificates and tell you which body must verify each one first.
- We list what your representative in Pakistan must take to each office, in order.
- When the document comes back with the UAE mission stamp, we submit it to MOFA.
Other countries are on embassy attestation.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can I give my brother power of attorney over land in Pakistan from Dubai?
Yes. We notarise the power of attorney in the UAE, in person, online or at home. It then goes to MOFA and the Pakistan embassy or consulate in the UAE. Ask the lawyer in Pakistan what else is needed there before you post it.
Does my Pakistani degree need HEC before anything else?
In most cases, yes. HEC verification comes before Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE mission. Only the MOFA step happens in the UAE.
Is a Pakistani apostille accepted in Dubai?
No. The UAE is not a party to the Apostille Convention, so it still expects the Pakistani foreign ministry attestation, the UAE mission stamp and MOFA.
My nikah nama is in Urdu. Is that a problem?
MOFA works from Arabic or English papers, or papers with a certified translation. An Urdu nikah nama therefore needs a translation. We prepare it.
