Egypt certificate attestation in Dubai and notary services for Egyptians
Egypt certificate attestation for Dubai brings Egyptian papers into the UAE. But Egyptian residents here more often need the opposite: a power of attorney, in Arabic, so that a brother or a lawyer in Egypt can sell a flat, register a car or follow a court case. That paper is signed before a notary public in the UAE, then attested by MOFA, then by the Egyptian embassy or consulate in the UAE.

Power of attorney.
General or special, for property, a car, a bank, a company or a court case in Egypt. See power of attorney notarisation.

Affidavits and declarations.
A statement for the Egyptian embassy or for an office in Egypt, such as a declaration of marital status or of support. See affidavits before a notary.

Notarised true copies.
Passport, Emirates ID, residence visa, salary certificate or a UAE degree, certified against the original. See certified true copies.

NOCs.
A parent’s consent for a child to travel or for a child’s visa. See NOC for a child visa.
Writing a power of attorney for Egypt
A power of attorney is only as useful as its wording. Before you sign, check these points with us:
Names.
Your name and the attorney’s name must match the passports and national IDs exactly, in Arabic and in English.
Powers.
List what the attorney may do: sell, buy, sign contracts, collect money, appear in court. A power that is not written in may be refused.
The asset.
For property, give the address and any registration details you have. For a car, the plate and chassis numbers.
Language.
Egyptian offices work in Arabic. We draft in Arabic, or in both languages, and provide a legal translation where needed.
A UAE power of attorney has no fixed statutory validity period, but an office in Egypt may prefer a recent one. Ask before you sign.
Egypt certificate attestation Dubai: which Egyptian office comes first
University degrees.
The university first, then the Egyptian higher education authorities where they ask, then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Al-Azhar certificates.
Al-Azhar has its own education system, so its certificates are verified through Al-Azhar’s own offices before the foreign ministry.
Birth, marriage and divorce certificates.
Ask for a recent computer printed extract from the Civil Status Organisation before you start.
Commercial documents.
The chamber of commerce, then the foreign ministry. See commercial invoice attestation.
After Egypt’s foreign ministry, the UAE embassy in Cairo stamps the document. That step is done in Egypt. The Egyptian consulate in Dubai cannot add a UAE embassy stamp.
When a translation is still needed
MOFA does not need a translation for an Arabic document. But if the file is later used by an office that works in English, such as an international school, a free zone company or a foreign bank, that office may ask for an English translation. Plan for it only if they ask.
Degrees for UAE jobs and licences
For an Egyptian degree, UAE licensing bodies may also ask for the degree to be recognised by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research after attestation. See degree equivalency and degree attestation.

Frequently asked questions
Can I make a power of attorney for property in Egypt while living in Dubai?
Yes. We draft it in Arabic, you sign it before our notary public, and it then goes to MOFA and to the Egyptian embassy or consulate in the UAE.
My Egyptian documents are in Arabic. Do I still need a translation?
Not for MOFA. It attests Arabic documents as they are. Another office using the document later may still ask for English.
Can the Egyptian consulate in Dubai attest my degree for a UAE employer?
No. For UAE use, the degree needs Egypt’s foreign ministry and the UAE embassy in Cairo, then MOFA here. The consulate helps with papers going to Egypt.
Is an old handwritten birth certificate accepted?
Often not. Ask for a recent computer printed extract from the Civil Status Organisation before you start.
Does an Al-Azhar degree follow the same route?
It ends the same way, with the foreign ministry, the UAE embassy and MOFA. The first check is done through Al-Azhar’s own offices.
