Egypt certificate attestation for Dubai runs from Cairo to the UAE in four stamps: the Egyptian body behind the document, Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UAE embassy in Cairo, and MOFA in the UAE. One thing makes Egyptian files easier than most: the documents are usually already in Arabic, so the translation step that slows other countries is often not needed for MOFA.

MOFA in the UAE
This is the Egypt certificate attestation Dubai route for documents coming into the UAE. If you hold a UAE document that must be used in Egypt, the direction reverses and the Egyptian consulate in the UAE is involved instead; that is covered further down.

Which Egyptian office signs before the foreign ministry
University degrees.
The university, then the Ministry of Higher Education, then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Al-Azhar certificates.
Al-Azhar has its own education system, so its certificates are verified through Al-Azhar’s own offices before the foreign ministry.
School certificates.
The educational directorate of the governorate, then the Ministry of Education.
Birth, marriage and divorce certificates.
A recent computer printed extract from the Civil Status Organisation. Older handwritten copies can be refused.
Commercial documents.

The UAE embassy in Cairo
After Egypt’s foreign ministry, the UAE embassy in Cairo stamps the document. This must be done in Egypt. People sometimes go to the Egyptian consulate in Dubai expecting this step; the consulate cannot add a UAE embassy stamp.
Arabic documents: when a translation is still needed
MOFA itself does not need a translation for an Arabic document. But if the file is later used somewhere that works in English (an international school, a free zone company, a foreign bank), that office may ask for an English translation. Documents going to Egypt
A UAE document for use in Egypt, such as a Dubai birth certificate for an Egyptian passport or a UAE signed power of attorney for property in Egypt, goes first to MOFA and then to the Egyptian embassy or consulate in the UAE. Frequently asked questions
My Egyptian documents are in Arabic. Do I still need a translation?
Not for MOFA. It attests Arabic documents as they are. Another office using the document later may still ask for English.
Can the Egyptian consulate in Dubai attest my degree for a UAE employer?
No. For UAE use, the degree needs Egypt’s foreign ministry and the UAE embassy in Cairo, then MOFA here. The consulate helps with documents going to Egypt.
Is an old handwritten birth certificate accepted?
Often not. Ask for a recent computer printed extract from the Civil Status Organisation before you start.
Does an Al-Azhar degree follow the same route?
It ends the same way (foreign ministry, UAE embassy, MOFA), but the first verification is done through Al-Azhar’s own offices.
