Bangladesh certificate attestation in Dubai and notary services for Bangladeshis
Bangladesh certificate attestation in Dubai is only half of what Bangladeshi residents ask us for. Just as often, they need a paper signed here for family back home. A brother needs a power of attorney to deal with land. A bank in Dhaka wants a notarised copy of your passport. The spelling of your name differs between your passport and your certificates, and an office asks for an affidavit that both names are you. This is notary work, and we do it in person, online or at your home.

We have in-house, in person notary public services, online notary public services and home visit notary services. Then, for certificates coming from Bangladesh for use in the UAE, there is Bangladesh certificate attestation in Dubai: the office behind the document in Bangladesh, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka, the UAE embassy in Dhaka, and finally MOFA in the UAE.
At a glance
- A power of attorney or affidavit for use in Bangladesh is notarised here, then attested by MOFA and the Bangladesh embassy or consulate in the UAE when the office in Bangladesh asks for it.
- A certificate from Bangladesh for UAE use needs the foreign ministry in Dhaka and the UAE embassy in Dhaka before MOFA. Source: MOFA FAQ.
- Bangladesh joined the Apostille Convention with effect from 30 March 2025, but the UAE is not a party, so the UAE embassy step is still needed. Source: HCCH status table.
- A certificate only in Bengali needs a legally certified translation for MOFA. Source: MOFA attestation service.
- MOFA charges AED 150 per personal document and AED 2,000 per commercial document.

| Power of attorney | A relative manages land, a flat, a bank account or a court matter in Bangladesh | MOFA, then the Bangladesh embassy or consulate in the UAE, if the office in Bangladesh asks |
| One and the same name affidavit | Your name is spelt differently on your passport and your certificates | Used in the UAE or sent to Bangladesh, depending on who asked |

| Notarised true copy | Passport, visa page, Emirates ID or degree, certified against the original | Sent with an application in Bangladesh or used here |
| NOC | A parent’s consent for a child’s visa or travel | Used by the UAE visa office or the airline |
For the power of attorney, see power of attorney notarisation. For name and support statements, see affidavits before a notary. For copies, see certified true copies.
Name spelling: sort it out before anything else
Bengali names are often written in English in more than one way. If your passport says one thing and your SSC certificate or nikahnama says another, a UAE visa office or a bank may stop the file. An affidavit sworn before a notary public, stating that both spellings belong to the same person, is the usual answer. Bring the passport and every document that shows the other spelling. We draft the affidavit, you sign it in front of the notary, and the seal goes on.
The same check matters for children. Before you start a child’s visa file, make sure the parents’ names on the birth registration certificate match their passports letter by letter.

Step by step
How the notary appointment works

01
Send us a photo
of the document or tell us what the office in Bangladesh asked for.
02
We draft or check the text
in English, and prepare a legal translation if one is needed.
03
You sign before the notary public, in person, by video through our online notary public services, or at home with our home visit notary service. We tell you if your document can be done online.
04
The notary checks your identity, watches you sign and applies the seal.
05
If the office in Bangladesh wants more, the notarised paper goes to MOFA and then the Bangladesh embassy or consulate in the UAE.
Step by step
Bangladesh certificate attestation in Dubai: academic certificates
For an SSC, HSC or university certificate to be used in the UAE, the order is:
01
The office that stands behind the certificate
in Bangladesh, such as the education board or the university, or the education authorities that verify it. Ask which one your certificate needs first.
02
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka.
03
UAE embassy, Dhaka.
04
MOFA, UAE.
We handle this final stage.
Bring the mark sheet or transcript too if the UAE employer or school might ask for it, so it goes through the same offices in one trip. See degree attestation for the UAE side.
Nikahnama and birth certificates
A nikahnama is often handwritten in Bengali. For a UAE family visa it usually needs an English translation that is accepted with it. Ask the UAE visa office whether it wants the translation made in Bangladesh or accepts a legal translation made here. For a birth certificate, the online birth registration certificate with an English version is the usual starting point. See marriage certificate attestation for a family visa and birth certificate attestation.
Commercial documents
Invoices and certificates of origin from exporters in Bangladesh start with a chamber of commerce in Bangladesh, then the foreign ministry, then the UAE embassy, and MOFA attests them as commercial documents. See commercial invoice attestation.
When a family member goes to the Dhaka offices
Someone must hand the document in at the Dhaka offices, and it does not have to be you. Ask each office first whether it accepts a representative. We can prepare and notarise an authority letter or a power of attorney so your family member can act for you.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can I give my brother power of attorney for land in Bangladesh from Dubai?
Yes. We draft and notarise the power of attorney here. If the office in Bangladesh asks for it, the notarised power of attorney then goes to MOFA and the Bangladesh embassy or consulate in the UAE.
My name is spelt differently on my passport and my certificate. What do I do?
Swear a one and the same name affidavit before a notary public. Bring your passport and the documents with the other spelling, and we draft it for you.
Can Bangladesh certificate attestation in Dubai be done without anyone travelling to Dhaka?
Someone must hand the document in at the Dhaka offices, but it can be a family member. Ask the office whether it accepts a representative, and we can notarise an authority letter for them.
My nikahnama is in Bengali. What should I do?
Get a certified English translation that the offices will accept with it, or plan a legal translation in the UAE. Ask the UAE visa office which it accepts.
Is the Bangladesh embassy in the UAE part of the attestation for a UAE job?
No. For a certificate used in the UAE, the stamps come from Dhaka and the UAE embassy there, then MOFA here. The Bangladesh mission in the UAE comes in for papers going to Bangladesh.
