Lebanon certificate attestation for Dubai
Lebanon certificate attestation for Dubai follows the same outline as every country (home authorities, then the UAE mission, then MOFA), but two things need checking early for Lebanese files. First, how the UAE mission step is being handled for Lebanon at the time you apply. Second, which language your document is in, because Lebanese degrees and school records are often issued in French or English while civil records are in Arabic.

MOFA in the UAE
The Lebanese side has two layers: the ministry responsible for the document (education or interior), then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in Beirut. After those, the UAE mission stamps the document and MOFA in the UAE completes the attestation.

The Lebanese side, document by document
University degrees and transcripts.
The university, then the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, then the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants.
School certificates (Brevet, Baccalaureate).
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education certifies official exam results before the foreign ministry.
Civil status extracts.
Individual and family civil registry extracts are issued by the Personal Status Directorate. A recent extract is safer than an old one.
Marriage certificates.
Religious courts register many marriages in Lebanon, and the marriage is then recorded in the civil registry. The civil registry document is usually the one to attest.
Commercial documents.
The chamber of commerce, then the foreign ministry. See commercial invoice attestation.
Language: Arabic, French or English
A civil extract in Arabic goes to MOFA as it is. A degree in French needs a certified translation into Arabic or English. A degree in English does not. If your Lebanese university issued the degree in French, decide early whether you will translate in Lebanon (and have the translation go through the same stamps) or in the UAE after MOFA. Documents going to Lebanon
A UAE document for use in Lebanon (a Dubai marriage or birth certificate, a UAE degree, a power of attorney for property in Lebanon) goes the other way: MOFA first, then the Lebanese embassy or consulate in the UAE. Frequently asked questions
Is the UAE embassy in Beirut open for attestation?
Check before you start, because this has to be confirmed at the time you apply. We check it for you as the first step of every Lebanese file.
My Lebanese degree is in French. Does MOFA accept it?
Not on its own. MOFA works with Arabic and English, so a French degree needs a certified translation.
Can the Lebanese consulate in Dubai attest my degree for a UAE employer?
No. The consulate deals with documents going to Lebanon and services for Lebanese citizens. A degree for UAE use needs the Lebanese ministries, the UAE mission and MOFA.
Do I attest my civil extract or my marriage contract from the religious court?
Usually the civil registry document. Ask the UAE office that wants it, and send us both so we can compare.
