Ireland certificate attestation for Dubai
Ireland certificate attestation for Dubai is what an Irish teacher, nurse or engineer needs before a UAE employer, school or licensing body will accept a degree, and what an Irish family needs for birth and marriage certificates on a residence visa. The document is prepared in Ireland (often with a notary), legalised by the Department of Foreign Affairs, stamped by the UAE embassy in Dublin, and attested by MOFA in the UAE.

Irish documents are issued in English, which MOFA reads as they are. The usual delays come from the notary step and from sending originals back and forth between Dubai and Dublin.

Where the Irish notary fits
The Department of Foreign Affairs can only authenticate a signature or seal it has on record. That is why many Irish documents need a notary public in Ireland first: the notary certifies a copy, or confirms the signature of the university registrar, and the Department then authenticates the notary.
As a rule of thumb, a certificate signed by a public official may go straight to the Department, while a degree, a transcript, a reference letter or a company document usually goes to a notary first.

Degrees and transcripts.
Irish universities issue parchments, and a UAE employer often wants the transcript as well. A notary certifies the copy or the registrar’s signature, then the Department legalises it.
Birth and marriage certificates.
These come from the General Register Office. Order a full, recent certificate rather than using an old family copy.
Police certificates.
Some UAE employers and licensing bodies ask for a police certificate from An Garda Síochána. Check how recent the UAE office wants it before you apply.
Professional registration letters.
Nurses and doctors often need a letter of good standing from their Irish regulator. These are usually sent directly between regulators or attested like other private letters.
Company documents.

Already living in Dubai?
The notary step must be done by an Irish notary, so the parchment usually has to go back to Ireland. A family member can collect it from the notary and pass it on to the Department and the UAE embassy. Courier with tracking both ways and keep scans. If you are starting a new job, tell your employer early that Irish attestation involves posting originals, so the visa timeline allows for it.

Frequently asked questions
Is Irish attestation the same as UK attestation?
No. Ireland has its own Department of Foreign Affairs and the UAE has a separate embassy in Dublin. A degree from Northern Ireland follows the UK route instead.
Can a notary in Dubai certify my Irish degree for the Department of Foreign Affairs?
Usually not. The Department authenticates Irish notaries and officials whose signatures it holds. Ask the Department before you try another route.
Will MOFA accept my Irish degree with an apostille?
No. The UAE needs the UAE embassy stamp from Dublin. Ask the Department for legalisation for use in the UAE rather than an apostille.
My employer wants my documents in two weeks. Is that realistic?
It depends on posting times and the Irish offices. Tell us your deadline first, and we will say which steps can run in parallel.
