Syrian embassy attestation and notary services for Syrians in the UAE
For many Syrian families in the UAE, the most important paper is a power of attorney. It lets a parent, brother or sister in Syria sell or manage property, handle an inheritance, or collect civil records for you. We notarise it here in Arabic, along with affidavits, declarations, NOCs and true copies, through our in-house notary public services: in person, online by video or at your home. MOFA then attests it, and the Syrian embassy or consulate in the UAE legalises it. That final stamp is the Syrian embassy attestation most people are looking for.

Step by step
A power of attorney for Syria, step by step

Ask first.
Ask the office in Syria, or the lawyer there, which form it accepts: a power signed before a notary public in the UAE and legalised, or another form. That decides the route.

Draft in Arabic.
We write the power in Arabic, naming the attorney, the property or case, and each act: sell, rent, sign, receive money, collect records.

Sign.
You sign before our notary in person, by video through UAE remote notarisation channels such as the Ministry of Justice e-Notary system and UAE PASS, or at home. We tell you if your document can be done online.

MOFA.
MOFA attests the notarised power. A general power of attorney is on MOFA’s commercial list.

Syrian mission.
The Syrian embassy or consulate in the UAE legalises it, and you send it to Syria.
A UAE power of attorney has no fixed statutory validity period, but the office in Syria may want a recent one. See power of attorney notarised in Dubai.

Syrian documents coming to the UAE
Civil status extracts.
Births, marriages and family details come from the civil registry as extracts: an individual extract for one person and a family statement that lists the household. UAE offices tend to want a recent extract, so ask your relative to request a new one before the chain starts.
University degrees.
The university certifies the degree and transcript before the foreign ministry step. See degree attestation in Dubai.
Marriage.
Many Syrian marriages are concluded before a Sharia court and then entered in the civil registry. Keep both papers ready and ask the visa office which it wants. See marriage certificate attestation.

The relative who goes for you
Give the person who takes your file through the offices in Syria:
- the original document, or the details they need to request a new extract;
- a clear copy of your passport and your Emirates ID;
- an authority letter, or a notarised power of attorney if the office asks for one.
Check the Arabic spelling of every name against the passport before they start. The Latin spelling on your UAE visa comes from the passport, and a UAE office compares the two.

Frequently asked questions
What is Syrian embassy attestation for a power of attorney?
It is the legalisation stamp the Syrian embassy or consulate in the UAE adds after MOFA has attested your notarised power. With it, the power can be used by your attorney in Syria.
Is “mofa syria” the same office as MOFA in the UAE?
No. The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stamps documents in Syria. MOFA in the UAE adds the final attestation to a Syrian document after the UAE embassy step.
Can the Syrian consulate in Dubai attest my Syrian degree for a UAE job?
No. A degree for UAE use needs the Syrian ministries, the UAE embassy step and MOFA. The Syrian mission here handles documents going to Syria.
Do my Syrian certificates need translating?
Not for MOFA, because they are in Arabic. If a document also carries English text, the names in both scripts should match your passport.
