Fees

Dubai notary public fees and notary charges in Dubai

Dubai notary public fees are made of separate parts: the government notary fee for your document, a private notary’s professional fee or trip fee where that route applies, MOFA and embassy fees if the document goes abroad, a translation fee if Arabic is needed, and our service price. Each government fee is set by the authority that charges it, and we pass it on at cost.

How we price

All service prices are starting prices and are negotiable. Government fees are paid on top, at cost, exactly as the authority charges them. We confirm your final price before you pay.

We have in-house, in person notary public services, online notary public services and home visit notary services. Whichever way you sign, we show every fee as its own line and confirm your total before you pay.

The short answer: notary charges in Dubai start at a few hundred dirhams per document, and MOFA adds AED 150 or AED 2,000 if the document goes on to attestation. The useful answer is the table for your own document, further down this page.

Quick answer

  • Under the federal schedule, a power of attorney is AED 100 per party, authenticating signatures on an instrument of unspecified value is AED 200 per party, an affidavit is AED 300, and a translation notarised with the instrument is AED 50 per page. Source: Cabinet Resolution No. 19 of 2024.
  • A private notary on the federal schedule adds up to 30 percent as a professional fee, so a power of attorney is AED 130 per party on that route. Source: as above, Article 2.
  • Dubai’s private notary fee decision, in force from 2 January 2026, sets AED 100 per party for registration, AED 100 per signature and AED 1,000 per trip outside the place of work. Source: Dubai Media Office.

  • Our service prices are separate and start from AED 50 per page for legal translation and AED 400 for a certified true copy.

Which notary fee schedule applies in Dubai

The federal notary law, Federal Decree-Law No. 20 of 2022, does not apply to local judicial authorities that have their own notary legislation, and Dubai has its own: Dubai Law No. 4 of 2013. So there are three sets of figures to know:

RouteWho sets the feeWhere to read it
Notaries under the federal systemCabinet Resolution No. 19 of 2024UAE Legislation

Dubai private notary fees and home visits

Dubai’s private notary decision sets the private notary’s own fees:

Registration:

AED 100 per party.

Signature:

AED 100 per signature.

Trip outside the place of work:

AED 1,000 per trip.

The trip fee matters if you want a notary to come to you. Our home visit notary services cover your home, office, hospital or care home in the UAE, and our own charge is quoted when you book. See home visit notary in Dubai.

For signing by video, see online notary in the UAE. The government fee for the document itself still applies.

Ways to keep the cost down

Ask the receiving office what it needs.

If it accepts a notarised document without MOFA, do not pay for MOFA.

Check the MOFA class before paying.

Personal or commercial is a large difference.

Sign everything at one appointment.

Several documents for the same file can often be done together.

Use a bilingual draft.

A POA or affidavit written in Arabic and English side by side may save a separate translation.

Translate once, at the end,

when the office wants the fully stamped document translated.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What are the notary charges in Dubai for one document?

It depends on the document and the route. Under the federal schedule, a power of attorney is AED 100 per party and an affidavit AED 300. Dubai’s private notary decision sets AED 100 per party for registration and AED 100 per signature. We confirm which applies to your document before you pay.

What is the cost to notarise a document in the UAE?

The government notary fee plus any MOFA, embassy and translation fees your document needs, plus our service price. All service prices are starting prices and are negotiable. Government fees are paid on top, at cost, exactly as the authority charges them. We confirm your final price before you pay.

Are notary public fees charged per document or per person?

Both, depending on the act. Powers of attorney and signature authentications are charged per party, an affidavit is a flat fee, and a translation is per page.

How much does a special power of attorney cost in the UAE?

The federal notary fee for a general or special power of attorney is AED 100 per party, or AED 130 per party through a private notary on that schedule. Our service price starts from AED 1,500. MOFA adds AED 150 or AED 2,000 if the POA is attested.

How much does a home visit notary cost?

A Dubai private notary’s trip fee outside the place of work is AED 1,000 per trip. Our own home visit charge is quoted when you book, and the government fee for the document is added at cost.

Do you charge the government fee separately?

Yes. Government fees are paid on top of our service price, at cost, exactly as the authority charges them, and they are shown as separate lines on your quote.
