# Notary services in Abu Dhabi, online and at your door

Dubai Notary Services brings notary services to Abu Dhabi residents and companies, from the city to Al Ain and Mussafah. We have in-house, in person notary public services, online notary public services and home visit notary services. For most people in the capital, that means a power of attorney, affidavit, NOC or declaration notarised online by video, or at their home or office, instead of a day spent on the road.

Abu Dhabi has its own notary route through the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD), with its own fee guide. We explain that route below so you can compare it with ours. If your document is going abroad, MOFA attests it after the notary, whichever emirate you live in.

Office open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. WhatsApp and online requests answered 24/7.

## At a glance

- Online notary by video, through the UAE remote notarisation channels such as the Ministry of Justice e-Notary system and UAE PASS.
- Home visits to your home, office, hospital or care home in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain or Mussafah. Our charge is quoted when you book.
- The ADJD fee guide charges AED 100 for each year of a power of attorney's validity, and AED 500 more if signature authorisation is added.
- A UAE power of attorney has no fixed statutory validity period. You choose the period in the document, or leave it open.
- Documents going abroad: notary first, then MOFA, then the destination country's embassy or consulate in the UAE.

## Online notary for Abu Dhabi residents

Online notarisation is the reason many Abu Dhabi customers call us first. It works like this:

### Send the document.

Share a photo of your draft by WhatsApp or email, or tell us what it must say and we draft it.

### We check it can be done online.

Not every document or receiving office accepts remote notarisation. We tell you if your document can be done online before you pay.

### Verify your identity.

You sign in through UAE PASS, and the notary checks your ID.

### Sign on video.

The notary watches you sign and applies the seal.

### Receive the notarised file.

If the document is going abroad, we submit it to MOFA next.

More detail on how remote sessions work is on [online notary public services](https://dubainotaryservices.com/e-notary-in-dubai/).

## Home visit notary in Abu Dhabi

Some people cannot use a video call: an older parent without UAE PASS, a patient in hospital, or a company where several directors must sign together. For them we come to you. We visit homes, offices, hospitals and care homes in Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain and Mussafah. The notary checks each signer's original ID, watches each signature and seals the document on the spot. See [home visit notary services](https://dubainotaryservices.com/home-visit-notary-dubai/).

## The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department route

Abu Dhabi runs its own judicial system, and the ADJD provides notary public and authentication services under its own guidance manual. Fees on that route come from the ADJD schedule, not the federal one.

| ADJD service | ADJD fee |
| --- | --- |
| Power of attorney notarisation | AED 100 for each year of the power of attorney's validity |
| Signature authorisation added to a power of attorney | AED 500 more |
| Affirmation of support (a declaration that you support a relative) | AED 100 |

How we price

Source: ADJD Guidance Manual, version 3 of 2023. Check the ADJD's current channels, services and timings before you plan a visit, because service points and hours change. If you would rather not visit, our online and home visit notary services are the alternative.

All service prices are starting prices and are negotiable. Government fees are paid on top, at cost, exactly as the authority charges them. We confirm your final price before you pay.

## After the notary: MOFA and the embassy

MOFA's rules and fees are federal and the same in every emirate: AED 150 for a personal document and AED 2,000 for a commercial one. MOFA takes attestation applications through its website and the UAE MOFA app, and its FAQ says its Customer Happiness Centres are closed. Source: [MOFA FAQ](https://www.mofa.gov.ae/en/faqs).

For a document going abroad, the order is fixed: notary, MOFA, then the destination country's embassy or consulate in the UAE. The UAE is not a party to the Apostille Convention, so an apostille does not replace these steps. A foreign certificate coming into Abu Dhabi goes through its home country's foreign ministry and a UAE mission there before MOFA. See [embassy attestation](https://dubainotaryservices.com/embassy-attestation-dubai/) and [legalising UAE documents for use abroad](https://dubainotaryservices.com/document-legalization-uae/).

## How we help

- We read your draft, or write one, so the notary accepts it the first time.
- We notarise it online, at your home or office, or in person.
- We prepare an Arabic legal translation where the receiving office wants one. See [legal translation](https://dubainotaryservices.com/legal-translation-in-uae/).
- We submit documents going abroad to MOFA and the embassy step.
- We confirm the price before you pay, government fees included at cost.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I get a power of attorney notarised in Abu Dhabi without leaving home?

Yes. We notarise it online by video through UAE PASS where the document allows it, or we come to your home. We tell you first which way works for your document.

### Do you cover Al Ain?

Yes. Al Ain residents can use our online notary services, and we visit homes, offices, hospitals and care homes there. The home visit charge is quoted when you book.

### How long is an Abu Dhabi power of attorney valid?

A UAE power of attorney has no fixed statutory validity period. You can set a period in the document. On the ADJD route the fee is AED 100 for each year of validity, so the period also changes the cost.

### Is MOFA attestation different in Abu Dhabi?

No. MOFA's rules and fees are federal and the same in every emirate. Applications go through MOFA's website and app.

### What are your hours?

Office open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. WhatsApp and online requests answered 24/7. The UAE government weekend is Saturday and Sunday, so government steps pause then.

### Send us your document

Send a photo of your document and the name of the office that asked for it. We reply with the route and a written quote.
