Skip one, and the file comes back. ## The attestation chain, step by step For a document issued outside the UAE and needed here. By the time it reaches MOFA, every UAE office after that can trust MOFA's stamp. Home country ### The issuing body or a notary Some countries want a notary public, a state education department or a registry office to confirm the document first. Home country ### The foreign ministry of the issuing country It checks the signature from step 1 and adds its stamp. Home country ### The UAE embassy or consulate there It checks the foreign ministry stamp. This is the step people most often miss when they have already moved to Dubai.
