# Canada certificate attestation in Dubai Canada certificate attestation in Dubai begins with a Canadian office deciding whether the document is federal or provincial. Canada changed its system when it joined the Apostille Convention, and provinces now authenticate many of their own documents. Canada's membership took effect on 11 January 2024, according to the HCCH status table. After the Canadian authentication, the UAE embassy in Ottawa stamps the document, and MOFA in the UAE adds the final attestation. A diploma signed by a university officer is often not on that list. So the usual route for a degree is a notarised copy, then the provincial authentication of the notary's signature, then the UAE embassy. Ask the UAE office whether it accepts an attested notarised copy or insists on the original diploma. A UAE visa office sponsoring a child usually wants the version that names both parents. Order that one before the attestation starts, because each certificate is attested separately. Does that make Dubai easier? Not for the UAE. The UAE is outside the apostille system, so a Canadian document for Dubai still needs a Canadian authentication and the UAE embassy stamp, then MOFA. ### Which province handles my notarised degree copy? Normally the province where the notary public is commissioned. A copy notarised in Ontario is authenticated by Ontario, for example. ### Can I attest an RCMP check for a UAE job? Yes.
